Goodbye grey, hello colour: Fiat to stop producing grey cars

Announced in a Hollywood-style ad (featuring a giant orange paint bucket), Fiat have announced they will no longer be producing grey cars.

Fiat will no longer produce cars that are painted grey, as it looks to further develop its reputation as a "brand of joy, colours and optimism". Despite grey being the UK’s most popular colour, making up more than a quarter of new cars sold last year, the focus will be on shades that reflect Italian landscapes, sea, sun, earth and sky.

The Fiat range currently consists of the 500, electric 500, 500X, Panda and Tipo, with electric 600e set to debut on July 4.

Going forward, Fiat paint colours will include: Gelato white, Sicilia orange, Paprika orange, Passione red, Blu Dipinto di Blu, Italia blue, Venezia blue, Rugiada green, Foresta green, Rose gold and Cinema black - all of which have 'evocative names' based on 'Italy's beautiful landscapes and dolce vita mood'.
