2018 Honda Jazz – 10 reasons why it’s the best yet

Following Honda's fact-filled feature on the new 2018 Honda Jazz Sport, we take a look at what makes the new standard Jazz so special, from performance to personality – and everything in between.

1. It boasts a bold new look
Inspired by the tough-as-nails 2017 Honda Civic Type R, the new Jazz is bolder, sharper and more aggressive than ever, with a ferocious front grille and sporty sidelines. It’s even got a spoiler. That’s right: a spoiler.

2. It’s got class-leading boot space
The 2018 Jazz has better boot space than any other car in its class: 1,314 litres. That’s big. So big, in fact, that it gives the CR-V a run for its money. And just like the previous model, the car comes with Magic Seats. Simply fold the rear seats back, lock in one of four modes and voila: lots more space. It’ll make a world of difference to all you parents, cyclists and not-so-light packers.

3. It’s much more powerful than the previous model
The new Jazz Sport boasts an impressive 130PS @ 6,600rpm – that’s 27% more power than the 2018 Jazz SE. 27%! Crikey. What next – a 134mph lawnmower? (In a word: yes…)

4. It’s got a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating
Euro NCAP awarded the 2018 Jazz a perfect five-star rating due to its impressive suite of safety features, including city braking, traffic sign recognition and intelligent speed limiter. It’s super-safe, basically.

5. It’s remarkably cheap
Prices for the new Jazz start at just £11,531.45 for UK based serving and ex-military with our exclusive FCD discounts* for the entry level S grade, and £14,206* for the Sport edition. Bargain.

*Prices from 3 April 2018.

6. It’s got great mpg
It’s a tricky trade-off: performance vs practicality. But at 55.4 mpg combined*, the new Jazz is not only cheap to maintain, but fun to run. It’s still a small city car, after all. Just, you know, sportier and more advanced.

7. It’s eco-friendly
The new Jazz emits just 116g of CO2 per kilometer* – that’s less than the 2016 average for all licensed cars in Great Britain. In other words, it’s kind to the environment and to your wallet. Winner.

8. It’s packed with cutting-edge tech
Smart features on the standard model include cruise control, automatic lights and automatic emergency braking. And for a little extra dosh you can get a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen, rear parking camera, keyless entry and lane-departure warning.

9. It’s getting rave reviews
“Brilliantly fit for purpose” proclaims Top Gear. “Very impressive,” says WhatCar. “Four out of five stars,” declares WhichCar. Early reviews for the 2018 Jazz have been very, very positive, naturally.

10. It follows one of the strongest years in history for the Jazz
Car of the Year’, ‘Best Used Small Car’, ‘Most Reliable Small Car’ – 2017 was a hell of a year for the Jazz. And now that the brand-new Jazz is available to purchase, 2018 will be even bigger. So watch this space!
