When you happen upon a company’s website and all of its prices are stated in US Dollars, then you get the idea that overseas’ clients are that company’s main target. Mind you, at prices for fully renovated Defenders that start from $120,000, rising through several bespoke models to $150,000, you either run and hide, or start to dig a little deeper.
With each model taking an average of 17-months to complete, once you have secured a build slot with a 25% deposit, even the opportunity to supply your own Defender 90, or Defender 110, at prices starting from $99,999 to $110,000 respectively, you soon realise that this is serious business and is assuredly not for the feint of heart. With production limited to just four complete Arkoniks every month and a surprisingly high demand to satisfy, high quality is central to the process and Arkonik is painstaking in its endeavours to make its examples more memorable than the originals.
Naturally, high levels of craftsmanship are central to each Arkonik model and most feature a reworked V8 engine, all with the intention of honouring the original factory Defender. Arkonik has been in existence for well over a decade, which highlights that it has already created a name for its efforts, long before Land Rover dropped the Defender from its plans. However, even at the prices stated, an Arkonik Land Rover is sure to maintain its value, just as the originals have, albeit on a somewhat higher plane.
